Homemade Green Seasoning



Green Seasoning is a Caribbean staple. It is used in almost all recipes. People usually buy a bottle at the local supermarket but those of us who love to cook, prefer to make it from scratch. It's a simple recipe,with lots of the everyday veggies. I don't use precise measurements, I usually eyeball it and put more of what i like to taste.
 I guarantee that once you make and use the recipe, you won't ever buy the bottled stuff again.
And you get the satisfaction of knowing exactly what's placed in it.




Homemade Green Seasoning




  • 2-3 cups celery
  • 2-3 cups flat leaf parsley
  • 8 garlic cloves
  • 5-6 habanero peppers
  • 2 cups green onions
  • 1 large onion, quartered 
  • 1/2 cup thyme
  • 1 cup water


Method :



  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor or blender with water. pulse until you get your desired consistency.  ( I prefer mine a bit chunky, where you can still see bit of the ingredients through out).
