Easy Turkey Bolognese

This sauce is quick and easy to make. It's also budget friendly. Good food doesn't need to be complicated or use fancy ingredients.  It can be served along side many other dishes. Store in the fridge for up to 2 weeks, and heat up whenever you want something delicious to eat.

Ingredients:

1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 large onion, diced
4 Garlic cloves, minced
1 large Carrot, grated
1 Chili pepper
2 Bell peppers (Roasted)
1 8oz. can of Tomato sauce
1 tbsp Tomato paste
1/4 cup Milk
1 1/2 tsp Salt
1 tsp Black pepper
1/2 tbsp Sugar
1 pound ground Turkey
2 cups of water

Method:

1. First we need to roast our bell peppers. Place them directly on an open flame. Keep turning,so that all sides are charred and cooked through. Place in a bowl, cover and allow to cool. Remove the charred skin and all the seeds. You can leave a few charred bits on there, this
will give the sauce a slight smokey taste.Chop the peppers, place in a bowl and set aside.

2. In a deep sauce pan over medium high heat, pour in the oil. Add the ground turkey and
cook, crumbling the meat with a wooden spoon, for about 4 to 7 minutes, until the meat has
started to brown. Add in the carrots, onion, garlic, chili, salt and pepper. Stir a few
times to mix, cover and let cook for 5 minutes or until the veggies are soft. Add in the milk, stir to
combine. Once the milk has been absorbed by the meat mixture, add in the tomato paste,
tomato sauce and 2 cups of water. Give it a stir and let cook for 15 minutes covered.

3. Give the mixture a taste, you'll realize that it's a bit acidic, add in the sugar and stir once again. After 5 minutes, taste and adjust your seasoning if needed, add in the roasted bell
peppers at the last 2 minutes and stir . Since the peppers are already cooked, they  don't need to stay
on the heat for long.

Serve immediately with some spaghetti pasta or spoon it over some creamy polenta.

Enjoy!!!!!
